Monero, the default
Monero is the default coin for a reason: it hides sender, receiver and amount at the protocol level, so the ledger does not leak the trail that a transparent chain does. For Tor commerce that property is the whole point.
Wallets
Use a wallet you control. Feather (desktop) and Cake Wallet (desktop and mobile) are common, lightweight choices that can route over Tor. Avoid holding balances on an exchange; withdraw to your own wallet first.
How to fund cleanly
- Acquire Monero and withdraw it to your own wallet.
- When you place an order, the market issues a fresh deposit address; send from your wallet to that address.
- Wait for the network confirmations the market requires, then the balance appears.
If you buy XMR on an identity-checked exchange, move it to your own wallet before sending onward. Sending straight from the exchange to the market links the two.
